The project “WEST MEETS EAST”- A Cultural Book Exchange, aims to exchange ideas and knowledge between artists from different continents and socio-cultural systems. It is a series of object-book exhibitions, characterised by their own dynamics, determined by the varied themes addressed by each artist, the different modes of plastic interpretation, the growing number of participating artists and their diverse backgrounds.
The starting point of the project is the artistic collaboration started in April 2009 between Daniela Frumușeanu (Romania) and Joanne R. Luongo (U.S.A.), which resulted in object books that have been exhibited in America and Romania. Other important exhibitions with these object books followed, organized within the same project in the following years, both in Romania and abroad.
