The perspective from which the image is examined and analyzed is not that of an art critic, but rather that of a practitioner. In this study, several directions of research are explored, beginning with the techniques themselves, which remain constantly open to the refinement and simplification of procedures, and continuing with their visual and theoretical implications.<\/p>\n<p>The mezzotint manner, as its name might seemingly suggest, appears to announce a dark and hopeless art; however, the techniques encompassed by this term operate on the principle of white on black and lead to an image that celebrates and emphasizes light.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This research into light and the techniques of the mezzotint manner has an important practical component.
